FAQs

Fee

While therapy can be costly, it is also a very worthwhile investment in yourself.  I do have a standard fee that we can discuss when we first speak during a free 15 minute phone consultation. I also offer a sliding scale for some specific circumstances.  Sessions are typically 45-50 minutes and are usually held once a week, but we may decide to increase or decrease the frequency  of sessions depending on the presenting issue, need, and circumstance.

Insurance

I accept PPO insurance and will provide you with a monthly statement of services rendered (a superbill) if you wish to seek reimbursement from your insurance provider.

If you are interested in using insurance, I recommend that you contact your insurance company and ask the following questions:

  • Do I have mental health coverage?

  • What percentage of my bill will be covered for services obtained by an out-of-network provider?

  • How many sessions will be covered per calendar year?

  • What is my deductible and has it been met

Cancellation

Once an appointment has been scheduled, I do have a 48 hour cancellation policy.

Remote Sessions

I offer all services virtually, which is also called Telemental Health.  This lets me provide mental health care for you without an in-person office visit. Telehealth is done primarily online with internet access on your computer, tablet, or smartphone.

Telemental health is not necessarily for everyone.  But some benefits of telemental health include reducing exposure to illness and ensuring you access care wherever you are in California such as at home or during a break at work. It can cut down on travel time and costs, can minimize time off from work, and minimize needs for child care.  You may not have therapists near you in your area, so being able to connect with a therapist remotely can provide you access to a therapist who may best meet your needs.
